I looooooove delphiniums. Love, love, love them. I bought my first one a few years ago because it was beautiful and blue and I had never seen such a pretty flower. That delphinium did not come back the next year—I don’t think we picked the right spot in the yard for it. The next year, however, we tried again, and those delphiniums have been with us ever since. Hooray!
We’ve had a lot of success with sad little plants off the clearance rack at Lowe’s and Home Depot. Many of our healthiest plants have come from those scrawny, dried up little delphiniums. I got four or five of them at the end of the season last year. I hope they are happy flowers come summer.
This pattern is based off of a photo of the delphiniums in our yard.
