Design-a-Day Spoonchallenge Day 11

Today’s theme for the Spoonflower Design-A-Day challenge was dyed. I have a number of hand dyed and batik fabrics that I have made over the last couple of years in a box in the basement, so this prompt was just the push I needed to pull them out and start converting them to images for fabric.

The one I chose to use for my design today is a deep blue that I just love. I’m also partial to these rings. They are really easy to create—just pinch little sections of cloth and wrap a rubber band around those pieces. I dyed this cloth with a Procion MX dye with techniques I learned in Jane Dunnewold’s The Art of Cloth Dyeing on Craftsy. If you are looking to get started with cloth dyeing, this is the class for you!
